This morning I’ve seen people complain that Steven Moffat makes the show all about the Doctor, neglecting the companions, and that he makes it all about the companions, neglecting the Doctor, the so-called Amy Pond Show as it is better known.

This is why Moffat and other TV writers tend not to listen to fan criticism. Fandoms are vast and splintered into many different groups who all want different things. If you try to please one group you’re just going to end up pissing off another.

I’m going to miss him and his bow ties.

I wonder how many people read the headline “BBC asks James Bond star to be its new Doctor Who” and thought “Judi Dench is going to be the Doctor?”

Rory Kinnear would make a great Doctor 

But he’s like the third actors this week who the papers have been saying was offered the role. 

When they run out of famous people, the newspapers will start to suggest regular Brits as the 12th Doctor
